"Go To" Layout Designs

Have you ever had scrapper’s block? You know, you stare at that blank sheet and don’t know where to start. When I get there, I usually pull out my “go to” layout designs. I have 3 favorite designs that I can manipulate slightly to get a different look each time and I use them often. The last layout I submitted for the Masters Team Kit will be my 4th “go to” design.

Here are a few suggestions to alter the layout and get a different look:

Doodle or journal around the centered mat.
Place numbers on the photos; put the corresponding number and a caption for the photo in the border area.
Alter the placement of the large, central mat.
Leave negative space; don’t feel like you have to fill all the spaces on your layout.

Using a previous Masters Team Kit, I created another layout, Purrfect Poses, using the same design with some alterations. Do you have any other tips on how to alter the basic design of my latest “go to” layout? I’d love to hear them!!
