MORE Inspiration & Cool new Bazzill Tool

Global Wildlife (created by Kay Frey) - cool papers from Glitz

New Toy Bruiser (created by Noelle Landry) - cool papers by Daisy Bucket

Come check out these cool layouts in person; LOVE LOVE LOVE the Lil Black Dress papers from Daisy Bucket-they feel like fabric-way cool. Also check out the Bazzill Edges used on this layout; Bazzill has NEW styles of edges, great-awesome quick!!!! LOVE THEM.

Speaking of Bazzill, they now have a page on their site where you can find the vendor of your pattern paper & Bazzill has matched their solids to these papers; Really cool & saves LOTS of time, if you have pattern papers at home, check this link & jot down the names of the papers that match. http://www.bazzillbasics.com/matchmaker (see the little arrow on either side to scroll through vendors); i've used it already & its awesome & the greatest part is that I've pulled solids I hadn't thought of using. Memory Mania carries all of the colors by Bazzill so you're in luck. I would recommend that you write the primary color so you'll know where to look when you arrive at MM. For instance London Fog (black). Check it out today!!!!

The mediums that we lied with the mega masks include: glimmer mist, Pebbles metallic chalk, Tim Holtz distress inks!!!! If you missed our make/takes at Expo, here is a video:

Noelle Landry demonstrates the AmaZING embossing powders from American Crafts. What's so cool about ZING??? Its a perfect compliment to American Craft's clear & rubber stamps coming soon. Zing is the most vivid & colorful embossing powder you have ever seen. It holds detail better than any other embossing powder on the market-hands DOWN!!! Its super easy & makes your layout or card look AmaZING!!! There were many scrappers at expo that had never embossed before & they definintely changed their mind without minutes of seeing the demo & using the powders. They have metallic, flourescent, glitter (that doesn't flake off) & opaque. Another great tip is applying the heat with embossing gun from behind -it helps not to blow powder away & you get to watch the ZING detail before your eyes. Come check out our awesome selection of ZING embossing powders.

Simple Scrapbooks Magazine Last Issue

WOW-What a sad day. I had heard a rumor that Simple Scrapbooks was shutting down and I just didn't want it to be true-you know how much i LOVE Stacy Julian and the Photo Freedom Philosphy!!!!!! So, I prepared myself: I put on some short, tshirt, grabbed my sunglasses & went by the pool . . . And low & behold on the page 4 it read "The Rumors are True you are indeed holding in your hands the final issue of Simple Scrapbooks magazine . . ." I just hate it, so i cherished every single page of this last issue. It seems that with all of the facination of on-line shopping & ideas, its affecting a lot of niche' magazines (they are not the first to go out of business), and many, many local scrapbook stores.

They ask that WE SUPPORT SCRAPBOOKING!!! Its kinda awkward for me to type a few things below that they asked that we pass along to the scrapbook community: (but is for the livelihood of this awesome hobby that I cannot live without so i must do it-i truly believe in it just as much or more than the day i opened the doors of Memory Mania) Here are a couple ways that you can support this hobby that we love.

1) Subscribe to or purchase CK at your local scrapbook store (Simple Scrapbook articles will survive in its sister magazine, CK).
2) Support your Local Scrapbook Store today!!!! Go spend $20 at your LSS today in honor of Simple Scrapbooks. Independent stores are the HEART & SOUL of the craft industry, and we must all do our part to keep them in business. (obviously this was the awkward part)
3) Be a scrapbook ambassador! Spread the good news of scrapbooking to one or more friends this week.

So yes, support your local scrapbook stores, can you believe that in Louisiana alone, we have seen 10 scrapbook stores shut down over the last 7 years=yikes!!!! Don't worry, Memory Mania is alive & well as long as everyone continues their support. I don't know about you, but i certainly don't want to be ordering solid paper online to match my pattern paper. And for so many people, its a social place to be also. Local scrapbook stores are frequently an escape place for MANY MANY people.

ECOUPON (must print & bring in coupon)

FRESHEN UP YOUR SCRAP SPACE

Ok ladies, its springtime-TIME FOR SOME SPRING CLEANING!!!! Purge your stash & give your extras to schools or churches. They are always looking for items to scrapbook with the young ones. And you won't believe how much you will want to scrapbook when you see & remember what you have to scrapbook. I just recently did this (it had been 1 year since I purged) and wow, i'm so motivated & ready to scrap. I went through every piece of paper & sorted by theme & color; So no excuses now, the papers i have are fresh in my mind to scrap with!!!!! I also gave alot of tools/embellishments/stamps that i know i won't use to local schools & they have already used alot of the stuff-ITS SO COOL!!!! My room is clean & organized and it was also for a good cause!!!!

And if you don't quite have a scrap room yet, you only need room enough for a table-see this cool table . . .

With table-top compartments sized to specifically hold your scrapbooking tools and materials this table is easy to set-up, move or take down. This heavy-duty table is sturdy enough to handle all kinds of craft projects and features a spacious work area of 26"x56". You can close the tops of the table with your layout & scrap things inside, lock it up, fold up legs & its on wheels to roll to the closet. VERY COOL-wish they had this before I had my scrap room.

Post & let me know how you organize & cleaned your Scrap Space.

Cinderella Project

OK, STOP LAUGHING, this is for a good cause!!!!! Memory Mania is helping the Ascension Cinderella Project this year. We have donated some mini albums & scrapbook papers & we're calling on our awesome customers to donate a disposable camera that we can give the girls to take photos for their SPECIAL night.

Do you remember your prom???? I couldn't really recall much until I pulled out this photo & it all came rushing back to me, like it was yesterday . . . Of course, I went with John-didn't know he'd be my husband one day. It was 1982 & the theme was "A Flight Through Time" ; we ate at Peking Gardens with a group of 20, we laughed & laughed, we had sooooo much fun!!!! Stood in line to take photos at the dance (Cindy, you'll remember this, photos were taken at the dance by Wintz Photography); We had so much fun, we had a live band and danced until we had blisters on our feet; The teachers (Mr. Braud & Mrs. Holdridge) had to throw us out, we didn't want to leave or for the night to end. I'm real tempted to post Allison & Jill's prom pics from that night too, he he. They look exactly the same. Ok, enough strolling down memory lane . . . Post here, what do you remember about your prom?

Anyway most people only have 2 opportunities in their lifetime to attend prom and I can't stand the thought of any girl having to miss her prom!!!!! So please, help us out, donate a disposable camera & make 1 girl's dreams come true!!!!!

Please bring disposable cameras to Memory Mania by April 24th !!!!! Also, you can donate dresses at the locations below:

The Cinderella Project of Ascension is a non-profit organization that promotes self-confidence providing free formalwear to high school students for their special event, that otherwise wouldn’t be able to do so.

As you clear out your closets, think of the Cinderella Project and the memories that are wrapped up in

that beautiful gown. You can have a hand in allowing a girl feel like Cinderella the night of her prom!

WOW-What an awesome DAY!!!!!!!!!!

"

It was GREAT to see all you on Saturday, what an awesome crowd, we had over 75 scrappers participate in EXPO day!!!!!!! We had such a good time & hope you did too. Normally we have tons of scrappers waiting at the door well before 10am with noses pressed to the door trying to catch a peek!!!! However, some decided to wait a bit to time it just right for the drawing at 1 (well close to 1-thanks for everyone's patience while we checked everyone out before the drawing) so it was nice & relaxing morning!!! The big hit, as usual, were the demos of the Invisibles, Chomper, ZING (amaZING), Metallic Chalks, Mega Masks!!!! WOW-MEGA KUDOS to Christy for creating these awesome make/takes & kits!!!!! KUDOS to Christy, Brooke, Noelle & Vicki for these cool demos!!!!!!! The kits were wiped out which is always cool because it lets us know that YOU liked these products as much as we did!!!!!

MEGA KUDOS to Jade & Jori for an outstanding day of greeting, checking out & bagging and there was lots of checking out & bagging (he he); Special thanks to Terri who was trying to shop but pitched in for a few minutes when we didn't have enough hands before the 1pm drawing. As always, thanks from the bottom of my heart-these girls put in so much time & effort getting ready for this big EVENT days-I definitely could not & would not want to do it without them!!!!

So many cool products . . . The ones I kept seeing over & over at the check out were: La De Dots (doodlebug flocked polka dot papers), Chompers, Metallic Chalks, Metallic Papers, Life Story (see Jade's layout in earlier post), kits, Bisous Kits, ZING, ZING, and more ZING, and LOTS more that i can't remember. We'll try to highlight a few of the products over the next few weeks because is was IMPOSSIBLE to really see everything in that one day-there were over 300 NEW papers; there were tons of stickers, thickers, chipboard, stamps, flowers, laser cuts, bling.

Congratulations to MARY LIVINGSTON, the winner of the $500 basket from American Crafts!!!! We're so happy for you-I guess you could see that from my face!!!

AND, look at this!!!! I have to say this was my FAVORITE thing that i saw at the CHA show in California this year. I definitely COULD NOT BREATHE without it. We are taking this special orders now, (cool thing, your card isn't charged until May) for this awesome ZEBRA Rolling Bag, Tote Bag. These bags are not available anywhere right now, the manufacturer loaned them to us for this special day so you could touch & fall in love with them after TONS & TONS OF BEGGING by yours truly. Orders will be shipped to Memory Mania somewhere around May 10th.

Thanks to everyone for coming out - it was such an enjoyable day to visit & share this awesome hobby we have.
