PLAN to scrapbook, relax & enjoy

Let's face it, when our days are numbered, we would never say "I wish I had did more loads of laundry", of course, i guess if we dodged laundry all together, then our days as a wife might be numbered LOL

Seriously, the point is-do you ENJOY scrapbooking? Do you enjoy spending time with your friends? Do you enjoy reliving these awesome memories while you scrapbook them? If you answered yes to any of these-please do as I say and not as I do LOL.

If it works with your lifestyle, PLAN to scrapbook. Most of us work during the day, so if we don't PLAN to scrapbook, it probably won't happen. If we can PLAN that once or twice a week, its actually easier. Can you set aside one night to hideout after dinner or runaway with some friends & scrapbook & visit. Planning might mean let the laundry go (for one night, maybe 2), prepare an easy dinner, and take time to get creative or just get some pictures on a page. This is always so helpful-OOPS in 15 min intervals-pull certain pictures, then next 15 mins spared, pull products to match & make a list of what else needed from MM, which is scrapbook heaven by the way (just check-in on facebook). So sometimes that's not always possible to pull a little here & there, but hey if you do pull some supplies together ahead of time – go YOU! Totally smart. If you plan to scrapbook, just like you plan to go to the grocery store or to the gym, you will be better prepared to get something done, making you more efficient with your time.

Here's an easy recipe for the night you plan to scrapbook OR if you have a great, easy recipe to throw in the crock pot, share it with us. Then it will be ready to go at dinnertime and you will have more time to scrapbook in the evening.

Oh, and here's dessert first (awesome layout to scraplift)

The Sky's the Limit Blake designed by Stephanie Powers
LOVE IT & DEFINITELY STEALING THIS ONE!!!

Ok, because we need protein:
Tortilla Soup (seriously-you just dump it all in pop, stir & heat)

1 pkg ranch powder
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 can creamed corn
1 can whole kernal corn
1 can pinto beans
2 cans Rotel tomatoes, diced
1 can Diced Tomatoes
1 cup water

Brown ground meat & onions; drain;POUR next 8 ingredients into pot;COOK on medium heat until meat is browned; cook 15 minutes;

Garnish with Tortilla chips, Mexican Cheese & Sour cream

And, that can be OUR LITTLE SECRET (use the time you normally would spend preparing a meal to SCRAPBOOK!!

Basic Grey Page of the Month Kit

There is one membership left for Basic Grey Page of the Month.
There is loads of paper in these kis with lots leftovers to complete another layout.

November, 2010

December 2010

November’s page-of-the-month creation by Greta Hammond features the
vibrant patterns and colors of the Wander collection by BasicGrey. Try printing your photos with a white boder around the outside of photos "pop" and give that retro feel. Greta’s
lovely layered creation is a study of simple shapes that add up to one big effect.
The stitched brads add a fun, textural element to the layout, while the simple
black rub-ons add a sophisticated and nostalgic feel.

For those students interested in the “All About Me” track, this layout will perfectly capture their favorite adventure. Whether it is a night on the town with the girls or a cruise to an exotic locale,
“Destination: Adventure” is a great chance to capture the fantastic feeling of being out in the world. This is a great layout to capture favorite late summer memories or even back-to-school pictures, too. The fun is in the journey, not the destination with Wander!

December’s elegantly rich and detailed layout by Kelly Goree features the Jovial
line from BasicGrey, and includes the ever-popular Bloomers and Pops (along
with a little rhinestone sparkle!) for a holiday feast for the eyes. Sophisticated
contrast is the name of the game, and for the “All About Me” fans, they’ll be able to “Deck the Halls” with their favorite holiday memories. In fact, this layout can bend to any number of holiday themes, from favorite carols to beloved recipes to even pets dressed up in Santa costumes.

Other themes this could be used for.
GENERAL
Nov: travel, kids, pets, back-to-school, staycation, patriotic
Dec: recipes, stockings, Christmas tree, shopping, holiday decorations, treats gingerbread house,
wrapped packages

OR ALL ABOUT ME:
“Destination: Adventure” is the perfect chance to detail travel adventures—from the food to the customs, menus, hotels, public transportation (mis)adventures and everything in between! Whether this was a recent trip or some memorable last-minute escape from years ago, record your memories in the convenient “Postcard” on the left page.

“Deck the Halls” is a great way for students to detail their cherished holiday traditions. Whether it is baking with family or decking the halls with all of the trimmings, Christmas lights in your neighborhood, favorite family portraits or simply images of wrapped packages under the tree, this is a great versatile layout for just about any personal holiday favorites

Sketch Page 81 using Masterpiece Kit highlighting Bo Bunny Cambridge and dew drops. Pam painted the chipboard letters blue, then added a coat of Crackle. Good Grief

Good Grief Class
Tuesday, November 2 6-8pm

Memories are the legacies that exist after someone dies, the lasting part of our relationship with the person we lost. Scrapbooking is a powerful means of embracing those memories and progressing toward healing and closure. Documenting memories helps people laugh and cry, and scrapbooking is a way to constructively channel those emotions, both happy and sad. Remembering the past is what makes hoping for the future possible...join us as we use scrapbooking as therapy...good grief!
