Black Sand Beach tips:
How cool are those letters? I LOVED them so much I bought another pack!

I used a photo as the backing for my title. The "black sand" is actually small polished pebbles, so I took a close-up of them and that became the background for my title. I reaaaally wanted all of these photos on 1 layout, so I used a "gallery" type layout, simply embellished, so my photos would stand out.

I used a swirly stamp and embossed the design in my title and in the extra space on the right with black glitter to emphasize the "sand."

For the journaling card (which I loved and also bought more to use throughout my Hawaii scrapbook) I aligned my content by manually adjusting the line spacing (lead) so it would fit on the lines, printed it, and placed it under the card. You have to play with the manual adjustment a bit to get the correct lead, I think I used 1.3, but I'm not sure. Just go under paragraph, then line spacing, and enter a number to experiment. On the card I listed the things we saw while visiting this park, which included much more than a black sand beach.

If you're doing the Masters kits, I hope you don't get too bored with my Hawaii pics, that's how I plan on getting my album completed. If you aren't doing the Masters kits, you're missing out on some great products!

P.S. I made a greeting card with some of my leftovers. I'll post it later.

I was so excited and nervous to do my first masters layout! I cut the papers into strips, inked all the edges in black and just layered them. I cut the black and white polka dot paper to look like ribbon. I used my edge distresser on the circle to give it some texture. For the journaling card I wrote directly on it. I've already used those awesome black letters on two other layouts!
